Odoo Developer & Business Systems Specialist

We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded Odoo Developer & Business Systems Specialist to own the customisation, development and continuous improvement of our Odoo environment. This is more than a coding role. You will understand how our businesses operate, map workflows, identify opportunities for automation and improvement, and translate requirements into practical Odoo solutions. Working closely with management and operational teams, you will help make Odoo an integrated platform rather than a collection of disconnected modules.

As an Odoo Developer & Business Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, customising, and maintaining Odoo modules using Python and the Odoo framework. You will configure workflows, automate actions, and design better processes, ensuring the Odoo environment is integrated and efficient.

• Develop, customise and maintain Odoo modules using Python and the Odoo framework.
• Configure workflows, automated actions, approvals, permissions and business rules.
• Customise models, views, reports, dashboards and forms.
• Develop and maintain internal and third-party integrations.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimise existing functionality.
• Manage upgrades and ensure custom developments remain maintainable and compatible with newer Odoo versions.
• Work with management and operational teams to understand current processes.
• Map workflows, identify inefficiencies and reduce duplication and manual administration.
• Translate business requirements into clear Odoo specifications.
• Design and implement practical, end-to-end workflows.
• Continuously improve the system as the business evolves.
• Help connect CRM, business development, sales, customer management, finance, HR, recruitment, document management, reporting, and internal approvals into one coherent business system.

• Strong hands-on experience developing and customising Odoo.
• Strong Python skills and knowledge of the Odoo framework and architecture.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and relational databases.
• Experience developing custom modules and configuring Odoo Studio, automated actions, server actions and workflows.
• Experience with APIs and third-party integrations.
• Understanding of security groups, access rights and user permissions.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining Odoo implementations.
• Ability to translate complex business processes into technical solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Confidence working directly with non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Azure.
