Job Description
Our client, operating within the healthcare and life sciences sector, is seeking a Healthcare Information Technology Executive to lead and drive their digital health strategy and IT operations.
This senior role sits at the intersection of healthcare delivery, regulatory compliance, and business growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding the implementation, optimisation, and governance of healthcare IT systems, ensuring that technology acts as both an enabler of innovation and a safeguard for patient data and clinical operations.
The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution and requires strong expertise in healthcare IT systems, digital health ecosystems, and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting customers across the full solution lifecycle, including solution design, engagement, demonstrations, integration, application support, post-sale follow-up, and maintenance.
Leading digital healthcare projects and driving innovation through technology adoption and strategic partnerships.
Developing and implementing IT and digital health strategies in collaboration with business development and sales teams, aligned with clinical, regulatory, and business objectives.
Overseeing IT systems, infrastructure, and healthcare applications to ensure scalability, security, and operational effectiveness.
Safeguarding sensitive healthcare and patient data in compliance with GDPR, MDR/IVDR, ISO standards, and other applicable frameworks.
Collaborating with healthcare providers, regulators, internal teams, and external stakeholders to deliver compliant and effective IT solutions.
Setting up and maintaining systems, network infrastructures, hospital information systems, and secure communication protocols.
Applying knowledge of digital health ecosystems, electronic medical records, and interoperability standards (including DICOM and HL7) to optimise performance and compliance.
Planning and delivering complex IT and healthcare projects on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic priorities.
Coordinating internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
Establishing and maintaining IT policies, business continuity plans, and disaster recovery frameworks.
Carrying out any other duties related to the role as required.
The Selected Person Will Be:
In possession of a Degree or higher qualification in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related discipline.
Have a minimum of five years’ experience in IT, preferably within healthcare or life sciences environments.
Experienced in core IT infrastructure, with proven expertise in implementing and integrating healthcare systems such as PACS, HIS, and EMR.
Knowledgeable in interoperability standards, including DICOM and HL7.
In possession of a valid driver’s licence.
Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive.
An effective communicator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
Able to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Flexible and keen to remain updated on emerging digital healthcare technologies.
