Job Description
Purpose:
To support our client by promoting, selling, and providing specialised clinical and application support for a portfolio of advanced hospital medical devices across Malta and Gozo, in full alignment with required standards, procedures, and customer expectations.
Main Responsibility / Activity Areas
A. Sales & Customer Engagement
- Promote and sell medical devices and equipment within state and private hospitals and clinics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare authorities, doctors, nurses, technicians, and other key stakeholders.
- Achieve assigned sales targets and contribute to the growth of the medical devices portfolio.
- Prepare forecasts, action plans, and performance summaries as required by management.
B. Clinical & Application Support
- Conduct product demonstrations and provide detailed technical information on the full medical device portfolio, including:
- Ophthalmic products
- Wound closure devices
- Open and endo-mechanical surgical instruments
- Advanced sterile products
- Advanced wound care therapeutics
- Regenerative medical devices
- Deliver operational and application training to end-users.
- Offer in-theatre application support during clinical procedures when required.
- Participate in both local and international training programmes to maintain up-to-date product and sector knowledge.
- Assist healthcare customers with operational or technical challenges related to the devices.
C. Market & Industry Knowledge
- Stay updated on market trends, competitive activity, and new medical technologies.
- Represent our client at trade shows, conferences, and exhibitions.
- Provide feedback to management regarding market needs and competitor positioning.
D. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare accurate reports and summaries related to sales activities, product performance, and customer interactions.
- Assist in compiling sales forecasts and supporting documentation required by management.
- Ensure proper documentation of training sessions, demonstrations, and customer support activities.
E. Travel & External Representation
- Travel abroad as required for training programmes, product workshops, and professional assignments.
- Represent the organisation in a professional and compliant manner at all times.
F. Other Responsibilities
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the division.
- Carry out any other duties related to the role as may be requested from time to time.
Requirements
Education
- Diploma or higher qualification in a Life Science discipline.
Experience
- Proven experience in medical device or equipment sales, ideally within hospital or clinical settings.
- Familiarity with the Maltese healthcare sector, including hospitals and clinics.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Goal-driven, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and within a team.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Flexible and eager to develop expertise in emerging medical technologies.
